Computer solutions for extreme environments

Comex Electronics AB has developed so-called environment-adapted (ruggedized) computer systems since the end of the 1980´s. Some environments demand computer solutions that can handle electromagnetic radiation, shocks, vibrations, dust, water, cold/heat, or other circumstances which can create functional problems.

Comex Electronics AB’s environment-adapted computer systems are developed in order to coupe with strains and fulfil certain norms. Presupposed that specified limits are not being exceeded we give a three year warrantee on all of the environment-adapted computers in our assortment.

Among other things, we have developed compact systems for the confined spaces available on boats. We have also developed and produced rack-mounted printers for military vehicles that can handle major temperature variations as well as vibrations and shocks.

Comex® IPC5210

IPC5210 is a powerful Intel Pentium 4 computer with removable SCSI- hard drives and redundant power unit (Hot-Swap). The computer is offered with 230 voltage AC or 24 voltage DC power units and is equipped with dust filters and tolerates vibrations and endures rough environments. For maximal flexibility IPC5210 offers 5 PCI-slots.

A 17 inch monitor for a 19 inch rack montage belongs to the IPC5210. The monitor has a protective safety glass and is specially adjusted for dusty environments.

Comex® FS7073

This colour printer is designed after an inkjet printer and is adjusted for a 19 inch rack montage. The printer prints up to 5 A4 format coloured prints per minute and is connected via the parallel port to a computer. The printer is among other things used in military vehicles which are used in very dusty environments. Due to this, the printer has been equipped with a series of functions to protect against vibrations, dust, and other small particles.
