PKI creates conditions for strong authentication

All information needs to be protected so that no unauthorised person can read or modify it. Secure identification of a user is a condition to protect against unauthorised access. The people that need access to work with the data must be identified. In the electronic world (Internet etc.) users identify themselves by stating their identity when logging on to a system. This process of verification is called authentication.

Authentication can be accomplished with the use of something a user knows, a user has, or something that is physiologically unique about the user.

It can also be accomplished through a combination of these factors. This is called strong authentication.
  • Something the user knows – PIN code
  • Something the user has – Smart card
  • Something physiologically unique about the user – Biometric measurements e.g. fingerprint
PKI

Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is a method for identifying people on the Internet, bind an user to a personal “signature”, and to protect information during its transmission. See more information of what services and products we provide within PKI.

Smart Card

A smart card is a card with a built in electronic memory where private keys can be stored. Personal information can also be stored on the card. Our consultants will help you to evaluate or to conform systems, but are also available for consultation etc.

Biometrics

Biometrics is a way to identify the identity of an individual, based on physical or behavioural characteristics. For example, this verification can be based on fingerprints, iris, face, or voice characteristics etc. See more information about biometric solutions that Comex Electronics AB uses.

Applications

There are different ways for applying these methods. Our security classified consultants have long experience of identification and will make suggestions how to make the operations further more effective. See more information of what we have developed within this area.
